04/29/24 — PNB announces Scholarship Winners

Peoples National Bank announced that 74 high school graduating seniors were awarded $37,000 to continue their secondary education.  “Our commitment to the communities we serve is part of who we are, what we do and why we have been in business since 1909.  We are proud to significantly increase our scholarship awards this year.  It has been a challenging year for this senior class and we want to provide support for their future endeavors,” commented Hunt Bonan of Peoples National Bank.

In keeping with the tradition of community service and commitment to the education of future civic and business leaders, Peoples National Bank established an educational scholarship that assists high school graduates in continuing their education at a university, college, trade or vocational school.  Each recipient of the Peoples National Bank scholarship receives a $500 scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to students exhibiting positive leadership and character in academic, community and extra-curricular activities.  To date, Peoples National Bank has awarded 1,154 students with over $676,000 in scholarships.

In keeping with the tradition of community service and commitment to the education of future civic and business leaders, Peoples National Bank established an educational scholarship that assists high school graduates in continuing their education at a university, college, trade or vocational school.  Each recipient of the Peoples National Bank scholarship receives a $500 scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to students exhibiting positive leadership and character in academic, community and extra-curricular activities.  To date, Peoples National Bank has awarded 1,080 students with over $639,500 in scholarships.

03/09/22 — Pharrah (Bradford) Decker promoted to Mortgage Originator

Pharrah (Bradford) Decker was promoted to the position of Mortgage Originator at Peoples National Bank in Mt. Vernon.  Pharrah has been in the banking industry for 10 years, all of which have been with Peoples National Bank.

Pharrah started her career at PNB in 2012 as a teller.  With her interest in the mortgage industry, she was offered the opportunity to work closely with Joy Schroeder and was promoted to an Assistant Mortgage Banker (2015), then Mortgage Consultant (2018) and was recently promoted to Mortgage Originator (2021) with the recent retirement of Joy Schroeder.  Pharrah prides herself in finding each individual customer the perfect loan program that fits their specific needs.

Pharrah is active in the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce attending as many ribbon cuttings and monthly luncheons as possible.  She also supports Jefferson County by shopping local.

Pharrah married Anthony Decker in October 2021 and together they have six children.  To complete the family, they have a 3 month old double-doodle named Winston.  Pharrah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending her kids sporting events, fishing and being outdoors in the summer.

01/13/22 — Carol Martin accepts Commercial Banker position at Peoples National Bank

Carol Martin was promoted to the position of Commercial Banker at Peoples National Bank in Mt. Vernon.  Carol started as a teller at Peoples National Bank in early 2009 and also served as Commercial Account Manager in her time here at PNB.

Throughout her time at Peoples National Bank, she has served on the Board of Comprehensive Connections and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for CASA of Jefferson County.  Carol and her husband, Eugene have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. When Carol is not working, she loves going to rustic events, enjoying the beach and spending time with family & friends.

01/04/22 — Rogers transitions to Business Development and Kirchner hired as Retail Sales Manager, Marion

Franny Crawford Rogers is transitioning to the role of Business Development.  Franny has been with Peoples National Bank since 2008.  Franny's role is to serve the needs of businesses in Williamson County.  Taking over Franny's previous role as Retail Sales Manager of our Marion Branches is Shelley Kirchner.  Shelley has been in Retail for over 20 years, the last 3 1/2 in the banking industry.  Shelley joined Peoples National Bank in November, 2022.  Shelley looks forward to helping customers with all of their financial needs.

Additionally, Connie Hendrickson, Head Teller, is adding the role of Teller Trainer to her title.  Connie has been with Peoples National Bank since 2007.

01/03/22 — Beasley promoted to Retail Sales Manager, Herrin

Kassi Beasley will transition to the role of Retail Sales Manager of the Herrin Branch.  Kassi was the Assistant Retail Sales Manager and a Relationship Banker before taking over her current role.  Kassi has been with Peoples National Bank since 2015.  Kassi looks forward to continuing to serve the financial needs of Herrin.

11/10/21 — Peoples National Bank receives outstanding rating

Peoples National Bank has received an overall rating of "Outstanding" from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for its 2021 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Performance Evaluation.  Less than 10% of nationwide banks receive a CRA rating of “Outstanding”, the highest possible rating.

06/17/21 — Peoples National Bank reveals new brand identity and logo

Peoples National Bank (PNB) announced today the launch of its new brand identity and redesigned logo.  Since 1909, Peoples National Bank has served Southern Illinois and the greater St. Louis Metro area with the latest technology, industry expertise and focus on customer service.

“With our expansion and our ever growing technology that allows customers to do their banking from anywhere, this was the perfect time to modernize our look,” said CEO Tom Dolson. 

With PNB’s recent expansion, it now has 23 locations in Illinois and Missouri, employing over 300 people, with plans to add more in 2021.

Customers will soon see the new look on PNB’s website and social platforms, and very soon on signage and products.

Peoples National Bank, a community bank headquartered in Mt. Vernon, IL, is bringing real-time payments capabilities and is now live on the RTP® network, the payments network developed by The Clearing House.  With the RTP network, Peoples National Bank is enabling its customers to receive payments immediately while also providing for advanced messaging capabilities.  Now, anyone holding a deposit account with the bank can receive funds within seconds.  For commercial clients, these incoming funds will simultaneously reflect in their electronic cash-management balance reporting, offering traceability and transparency.

"Today, business moves in real-time and corporate clients expect banks to keep pace," said Suzy Morris, Senior Vice President, Head of Treasury Management at Peoples National Bank.  "We are excited to join the RTP network to provide our customers greater control over their cash position and an improved experience.”
